Among the many things he talked about tonight, one that struck out the most to me was his reply to a question posed by the host that if the solution to a problem is so simple and is staring us in the face that why don’t we just do it? In his opinion, a solution staring in the face could still be very difficult to accomplish and an individual effort for a collective good is what is required to constitute a progressive society.

TBridge @ E2 Alumni reception

The evening’s guest speaker was Mr. Scott Lake, founder and co-founder of number of web 2.0 and social media startups (Think SM, SWIX and Shopify) in the Ottawa area. He briefly talked about his past experience with startup businesses, the advantages and drawbacks of living the entrepreneurial life. In his words, the main advantages being that one gets to chose with whom to work with, what to work on and being in control of ones own destiny.
